April 22, Earth Day, was the launch date of the Mighty Mommy Belly Burn Project. Two weeks later, I am re-energized, down one pant size and hauling around 9 less pounds! I’m finally feeling like I’m taking control of my precious health.

In the two short weeks that I have been working with my colleague, Ben Greenfield, the one and only Get-Fit Guy, I’ve realized there are many ways to become fit and healthy without going overboard. Let’s face it busy moms are used to putting themselves last, which is how most of us end up a little heavier, less energetic and sometimes even frumpier than we ever dreamed we could be. That’s how the Belly Burn Project was born.
The point of the Belly Burn Project is to combine healthy eating with a reasonable exercise program that doesn’t send harried moms over the edge. In just two weeks, I’ve lost nearly 10 pounds by tweaking my everyday routines. I now park in the farthest spots away from the front door to any of my errands such as grocery shopping, the registry of motor vehicles, or even at my kids’ schools. I walk the dogs with a skip in my step and instead of sitting on the park bench in the playground while my kid play, I walk for the hour we are there while listening to a book from audible.com.
Get-Fit Guy has many amazing tips to help burn fat quickly without exercise, such as alternating my shower temperature between warm and freezing! I never thought I’d enjoy a cold shower as much, but I’m already in the habit and I don’t think there’s any turning back. He also has some awesome tips on how to lose fat and gain muscle at the same time that I’m finding incredibly helpful.
As a reminder, my goal is to lose 30 pounds and approximately 10 inches. Attitude and determination play a big factor in my journey, but having the right tools available is key. That’s why I’m so grateful to the Belly Burn Project.
I hope you can join us for our next LIVE webcast on Friday, May 10th at 9 am PDT—that’s 12 noon EST. During this event, Ben is going to discuss how stress, hormones, and sleep play a big factor in successful fitness.
See you next week, and hopefully by then you’ll see even less of me!
